About the H1N1 Flu Virus:
2009 H1N1 (sometimes called “swine flu”) is a new influenza virus causing illness in people. This new virus was first detected in people in the United States in April 2009. This virus is spreading from person-to-person worldwide, probably in much the same way that regular seasonal influenza viruses spread. On June 11, 2009, the World Health Organization (WHO) signaled that a pandemic of 2009 H1N1 flu was underway.

The Pueblo City-County Health Department closed the Public Health Flu Hotline December 18, 2009.
Children 9 and Under Need a Second Dose!
Children nine years old and younger that received a first dose and need their second dose are encouraged to call the Health Department to schedule an appointment in the clinic. Health Department officials recommend 28 days between doses, yet 21 days since the first dose is also acceptable.
Vaccine for children 6 months to 4 years old is available by Appointment Only
Children 6 months to 4years old that are unable to get H1N1 flu vaccine at a pharmacy or their health care provider are encouraged to call the Health Department to schedule an appointment in the clinic. H1N1 flu vaccine for this age group are by appointment only by calling 583-4440.
